Living Water Lutheran Church (formerly known as Our Redeemer) is a mission congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) and enjoys fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
Who are we?
We hold to the Bible as the true word of God and follow only the teachings which God has handed down to us. We know that salvation comes to us through faith in Christ Jesus alone and that it is through Christ that we will enjoy eternal life in heaven.
What’s in a Name?
Among other nicknames, “San Angelo” is known as the Oasis of West Texas. Prominent features of our city include the beautiful Concho River that runs through the middle of it, as well as Lake Nasworthy. This water is important, for the city and for the people that reside in it.
Of far greater importance is the living water that we find only in Jesus Christ. Throughout Scripture, water is used as a picture for salvation. In John 4:14, Jesus tells us, “Whoever drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty ever again. Rather, the water I will give him will become in him a spring of water, bubbling up to eternal life.”
This living water, which quenches our parched lips in this barren wilderness of life, and which flows through us as baptized children of God is found only in Christ. This is what we have the privilege of sharing as a mission congregation in San Angelo. For that reason, we chose “Living Water Lutheran Church.” Please keep us in your prayers as we share this living water with those around us!
